The attacker might not have any user-level access to the web application. However, this does not mean that the application cannot be attacked remotely. XSS vulnerabilities could be triggered even by unauthenticated users.
In the exercise below, the attacker is not authenticated to the web application and needs to find an XSS attack.
osTicket is a web-based support ticket system. It enables the support team to manage, organize and archive all the support requests and responses in one place.
osTicket (before 1.10.7 and 1.12.x before 1.12.1) is vulnerable to a Stored Cross Site Scripting documented in CVE-2019-14750.
